6.3 North American Industry Classification System

The North American Industry Classification System or NAICS is used by business and government to classify business establishments according to type of economic activity (process of production) in Canada, Mexico, and the United States of America. It can be used by the vocational rehabilitation professional to determine occupations related to specific industries. For example, vocational rehabilitation professionals (NAICS: 624310) are related to such occupation as: Technical and Trade Schools (NAICS: 61151); Elementary and Secondary Schools (NAICS: 61111) and Education Support Services (NAICS: 611710).
